Trigg Construction: Supporting Northland

Proud Northlanders, Trigg Construction love to get behind the region and support their local communities to thrive. Whether it’s sponsoring the sports arena in Whangarei they built back in 2012 or helping local kids get involved in sport and recreation - Trigg are there. Darrell is the local Chief of the Ruakaka Volunteer Fire Brigade, and both Darrell and Marlene regularly put their knees on the line to stair climb for charity. A champion campaigner for mental and physical health in the construction industry, Darrell travels the country talking to people about taking better care of themselves and their mates whenever he gets the opportunity. Giving back to the community is a big part of who they are.

Trigg Arena

Trigg was the main contractor of the sports arena and facilities at Kensington Park in Whangarei – now proudly known as the Trigg Sports Arena. Built by Team Trigg in 2012, their ongoing sponsorship helps with the facilities’ care and maintenance. Darrell and Marlene Trigg are mad sports fans, so supporting the arena and local sport and recreation feels great. “Knowing how important these facilities are to the people that use them and the future of Northland sport, we’re thrilled to put our name to this world-class community facility”.

Trigg Arena is an architecturally designed arena in the heart of Whangarei’s sporting precinct, skilfully nestled in a high-density residential neighbourhood. Co habitating Athletics Whangarei and Whangarei Academy of Gymnastics,  the facility has a 500-seat grandstand with large canopies floating overhead and over 1700m2 of training and competition gymnastics floor space, including purpose-made pits in the floor for foam blocks and competition trampolines. The building features stack bonded masonry throughout. The arena is a modern, functional fit-for-purpose facility and valuable community asset.

Trigg Construction are the Northland partner of NZCA, and like all NZCA partners, they have a strong commitment to being involved in their community. We support local people and local businesses to create regional growth and development, resulting in a positive impact on our communities and beyond.
